BRATISLAVA. Former coach of Slovak skier Petra Vlhová Livio Magoni will lead Slovenia Meta Hrovatová next season.
The information was published at a press conference of the Slovenian Ski Federation and confirmed for Sportnet by the Slovenian journalist Siniša Uroševič.
An experienced 57-year-old Italian expert will become part of the Slovenian team in the 2021/2022 Olympic season, will work with other coaches, but will be mainly in charge of the 23-year-old skier.
“I am happy to meet an athlete like Meta. I’ve talked to her a lot these days. She has potential in many ways. Even mentally, because she has had to overcome difficult times in her career, including a serious injury to a member,” neveitalia.it.

Hrovatová is the junior world champion in slalom from 2018. In the World Cup, however, she is significantly more successful in the huge slalom, in which she won all four podium places.
She always finished in third place, twice in the previous season. She did well on the home slope in Kranjska Gora and also in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
Magoni admitted that they will also try to improve their slalom results.

“He is currently in 48th place, so he will have to start outside the Top 30. We will work on it, although it will not be easy in slalom.
We have a small team, but we will have good support from the federation and the opportunity to train individually, but also with other girls, “said the Italian.

Magoni already has experience with Slovenian skiing, as in the past he also led the four-time Olympic medalist Tina Maze.
During his collaboration with Petra Vlhová, Slovenka became the winner of the overall standings and a racer who can ride all disciplines.
How will it be with Hrovatová? “As for the Super-G, we’ll try it, but only later and it will take time,” Magoni added.
