Despite his return to the stage and an event duet with Christophe Maé, the disease remains at the center of Florent Pagny’s life. Aware of its impact and the need to review its priorities, the singer has adapted his tour.
Florent Pagny lucid about his illness
For his summer return, Florent Pagny has planned a carefully paced schedule, including moments of rest between each performance. Indeed, the dates of the festivals are judiciously spaced out, thus allowing the singer to rest and recuperate between each performance. This approach will allow him to assess the impact of his concerts on his physical condition, particularly in terms of his voice, and to take the necessary measures to preserve his health:
“My problem is not my voice, but the management of my oxygen. I can’t run, I can’t push yet, because I immediately feel the repercussions”.
Changes related to the disease also influenced Florent Pagny’s perception of his treatment. At first, he admits he took his treatment a bit lightly, but he quickly learned that cancer is a powerful and sneaky enemy. He had to change his way of dealing with it and understand that treatment is a long-term process:
“I realized that cancer cannot be treated in four days with antibiotics or six months of chemotherapy, which, moreover, requires regular check-ups… Even if it goes well, overnight ( …) things can come back… I gave myself a chance. I stopped a treatment. So then I started this treatment again”.
