It’s possible to live with diabetes
Dietitian Mary Ellen Phipps has been diagnosed with diabetes for 30 years, but she does not adhere to strict dietary restrictions.
As Phipps notes, it’s all about the combination of different foods that can help maintain normal blood sugar levels.
The nutritionist assures that even diabetics do not have to completely eliminate carbohydrates from their diet. It offers a way to consume carbohydrates that is healthy and doesn’t cause spikes in your blood sugar.
The nutrition specialist talked about what foods she eats herself.
One of the dishes Phipps chooses is pasta with vegetables. The doctor notes that if you only eat pasta, your sugar level will jump. However, in combination with vegetables, including zucchini, broccoli and bell peppers, the glucose level will not be too high.
Phipps also recommends mushroom rice. According to the nutritionist, the choice should be made in favor of brown rice and be sure to add vegetables or mushrooms to it. Then your sugar level will remain normal.
