/ world today news/ Seventh “Baroque Art” Festival
The Festival Baroque Ensemble and the participants of the “Teddy Bear” Children’s Musical Theater at 41 Elementary School-Sofia invite you to be transported to the distant times when Charles Perrault collected and published the fairy tales that are still beloved today.
- What kind of music was played in the palace of the beauty who woke up from a hundred-year sleep?
- What musical instruments did the palace orchestra play?
- What were their clothes, how did they dance?
- And what happened then in the Balkans?
On the stage of People’s Community Center “Slavyanska Beseda” – Sofia, on October 22, 2013/Tuesday/ from 11:00 a.m., 127 G.S. Rakovski St. two paintings from the Baroque era – by Caravaggio and Charles van Loo – will come to life. Whether the little actors will be able to reproduce the atmosphere of the 17th-18th centuries will be judged by their peers.
One thing is certain – that the musicians are of the highest European class, will play ancient instruments and will tell inspired and fascinating stories.

The “Baroque Art” festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of the Sofia Municipality for 2013 and is implemented in support of the candidacy of Sofia and the South-West Region for European Capital of Culture-2019.
