Livestream Meeting point on Friday 18 June

REGION – On Friday 18 June there will be a Livestream Meeting Point again, the subject is ‘Daytime activities and the effect on people with dementia’.

The design of a room, doing the right activities and doing those activities in a good way have a major influence on the well-being and behavior of people with dementia. Discussion leader Silvia Adrichem will talk to Roos Zwart. She was originally trained as an interior architect, and later went on to work as a caregiver and activity counselor in elderly care. She has focused on the processing of stimuli by people with dementia. Roos Zwart works as a teacher and advisor, among others for the CCE, the Center for Consultation and Expertise.

Topics that will be discussed are: what should you take into account when you are going to do activities with someone with dementia; how can you motivate someone; if someone goes to day care, what should you take into account; how do you prepare someone; if someone with dementia shows misunderstood problematic behaviour, how can the environment influence this?

Due to corona, regular meeting points are unfortunately not possible. As an alternative, the Midden-Kennemerland department broadcasts the conversation live. It can be followed from 4 p.m. via
www.alzheimer-nederland.nl/midden-kennemerland. During the conversation you can call to ask a question or add something. The phone number is: 06-227 428 52.
