Liverpool’s Unbeatable Start Halted: Vice Captain Trent Alexander-Arnold Discusses Dressing Room Mood After VAR Error

Liverpool

Unbeatable start Liverpool stopped with a defeat marked by a VAR error. Liverpool Vice Captain Trent Alexander-Arnold talk about the mood of the dressing room.

Liverpool started this season well and were unbeaten in the first eight matches. After a draw against Chelsea, ‘The Red’ won the next seven matches.

This positive trend only stopped at Tottenham Hotspur’s headquarters, in a match marked by errors and a dramatic ending. Liverpool had a goal wrongly disallowed, briefly held Spurs down to nine men, then lost due to an own goal.

Liverpool then have the opportunity to recover from this bitter result when they host Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League, Friday (6/10/2023) early morning WIB. Trent Alexander-Arnold ensured that the players were not disturbed by the defeat to Spurs.

“As players, we don’t really care about how many games we are unbeaten. We just want to win every game that is in front of us and we start again with an important match,” he was quoted as saying Liverpool Echo.

“We can go on and win it, we feel like that. That’s where our focus is. I think, especially at the start of the season, we want to lay the foundations, create the foundations, get that winning aura and have a good feel around the team.”

“It’s not about how you start, but how you finish. But it’s important to make sure you’re in a good position to finish well,” added the England national team right-back.
