No goals were scored throughout the first half. Liverpool went berserk in the second half by scoring three goals.
Darwin Nunez opened the tap for Liverpool’s goals, before Diogo Jota recorded a brace against Bournemouth. Nunez’s second goal in injury time ensured the Reds’ 4-0 victory.
This victory makes Liverpool firmly at the top of the standings with 48 points. Juergen Klopp’s troops are 5 points ahead of Manchester City, who still have one match in savings.
The Course of the Match
Bournemouth got the first chance in the seventh minute. Marcus Tavarnier’s shot from a tight angle was pushed out by Alisson Becker.
Liverpool had difficulty penetrating Bournemouth’s defense and relied on shots from outside the penalty box. Darwin Nunez’s attempt in the 25th minute was saved by The Cherries goalkeeper, Neto.
Liverpool shot from long distance again, this time through Luis Diaz, in the 34th minute. The ball went straight into Neto’s arms.
Bournemouth threatened again seven minutes later. Ryan Christie’s kick from outside the penalty box was caught by Alisson.
Liverpool got the chance from a corner kick in injury time. Ibrahima Konate headed Elliott’s corner ball, but his attempt missed the target. The score 0-0 was the final result of the first half.
GOL! Liverpool broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half. Darwin Nunez listed his name on the scoreboard.
Starting from Konate’s long pass into the Bournemouth defense, the ball was then passed from foot to foot by Liverpool players. Diogo Jota then provided a mature pass which Nunez completed into a goal. The Reds lead 1-0.

Liverpool surrounded Bournemouth’s defense to double their lead. Conor Bradley’s shot on target in the 54th minute was saved by Neto.
GOL! The visiting team managed to double the score in the 70th minute. This time it was Jota who successfully scored with his shot, using Cody Gakpo’s assist.
BRACE! Jota put his name on the scoreboard again nine minutes later. This time the Portuguese bomber beat Neto from a hard shot in the penalty box.
Bournemouth almost scored in injury time. Lewis Cook went one-on-one with Alisson, but his shot went off target.
BRACE! Liverpool scored the fourth goal in injury time. Nunez broke into Bournemouth’s goal for the second time after receiving a cross from Joe Gomez. A score of 4-0 for the Reds was the final result of the match.
