Liverpool’s Bid for Romeo Lavia Rejected by Southampton – Latest Transfer News

Liverpool

Liverpool still have to work hard to get Romeo Lavia. Because, Southampton rejected the Reds’ offer again.

Quoted by Sky Sports, Liverpool have actually made a second bid for Lavia worth £40 million plus bonuses. This is up slightly from the initial bid of £34 million plus four million in bonuses.

Liverpool felt that the valuation was right for a player of Lavia’s caliber, who was relegated last season with Southampton from the Premier League.

Unfortunately, Southampton rejected the offer outright because it was not what they wanted, which was around 50 million pounds (Rp. 900 billion). Because, Southampton has given a four-year contract when bringing Lavia from Manchester City last season.

In addition, Southampton must also give 20 percent of Lavia’s sales to City. Therefore, the figure of 50 million is considered the most appropriate because Southampton will get 40 million pounds, after deducting rights for Citizens.

This value is the same as the buy-back clause that City can activate in the summer of 2024. Liverpool are still in discussions with Southampton to get a final price.

The reason is that Lavia has reached an agreement on a five-year contract. If indeed Romeo Lavia fails to get hold of, Liverpool will reportedly divert their prey to Fluminense midfielder Andre.
