Manager Liverpool Jürgen Klopp confirmed that he would not join the hunt Erling Haaland. Because the price of Haaland is beyond common sense.
Haaland is wanted by big European clubs this summer. Liverpool is the one who is interested in him besides Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Moreover, Mohamed Salah is likely to withdraw if there is no agreement on a new contract. Salah’s sale money could be used to sign Haaland who is “only” valued at 70 million euros in his joint contract Borussia Dortmund.
That kind of money is certainly not difficult to fulfill for Liverpool, whose financial condition is fairly healthy. Plus Klopp some time ago had praised Haaland and wanted to hook him.
However, Klopp hastily straightened out his previous statement while denying Liverpool will pursue Haaland. Because, Haaland’s transfer nominal does not match Liverpool’s budget this summer.
To note, even though Haaland is only priced at 70 million euros, the total transfer value can reach 300 million euros for a five-year contract. Because Liverpool have to pay Haaland’s high salary as well as pay the commission of Haaland’s agent Mino Riola.
“We’re not going to follow suit Erling Haaland. The figures mentioned do not make sense. We can’t control it. There is no chance at all (Haaland Liverpool),” he said Jürgen Klopp to Sport Bild.
“Honestly I don’t want to. It’s not fun at all (the issue),” he continued.
