Real Madrid will be the opponent Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals. Thiago Alcantara emphasized that Liverpool will face Madrid with respect.
Quarter-finals draw Champions League was held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday (19/3/2021). As a result, Madrid was reunited with Liverpool.
This is a repeat of the 2018 Champions League final. The Reds must admit Madrid’s superiority with a score of 1-3 in the final match which was held in Kiev, Ukraine.
Liverpool will first travel to Real Madrid’s headquarters in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on April 6. They will then take turns hosting the second leg at Anfield on April 14.
“Our reaction is that we have respect for Real Madrid, the respect we should have for opponents in the Champions League quarter-finals,” Thiago told reporters. AS.
“And we can’t wait to wait for the match. It is a great competition and a duel against a great team. We will face it with the respect for Madrid as it deserves.”
Thiago Alcantara already has two Champions League titles that he won with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Thiago realizes that winning a third Champions League title with Liverpool will not be easy.
“This is a difficult tournament to win, so you should be happy to win it with any team. The Champions League final is the highlight of a season,” said Thiago.
“I was lucky enough to have won it twice, it was really tough, because it is a tough competition. All the players, all the best players in Europe want to win it. All the big European clubs are fighting to make it happen,” he said.
