‘Reds’ beat Fulham at Anfield
This Wednesday, Liverpool beat Marco Silva’s Fulham 2-1 in the first leg of the English League Cup semi-finals.
The Cottagers took the lead first, following a mistake by Virgil van Dijk in the 19th minute. Andreas Pereira assisted Willian, who beat Caoimhin Kelleher, now starting in place of Alisson Becker.
35 – At 35 years and 154 days, Willian is the oldest player to score in a League Cup semi-final since Fernandinho scored in January 2021 for Manchester City (35y 247d). Samba. pic.twitter.com/otwzJvrleH

Jürgen Klopp’s team reacted in the second half. Darwin Núñez, who entered the field in the 56th minute, assisted twice, with the accurate shots coming from Curtis Jones, in the 68th minute, and Cody Gakpo, also a substitute used, in the 71st.
Interestingly, Cody Gakpo scored in all four of Liverpool’s games in the competition, becoming the first to do so for the club since Vladimir Smicer in 2000-01.
Portuguese Diogo Jota was the starter and played the 90 minutes. He was involved in the Reds’ second goal. João Palhinha also played at the start.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold injured, the focus is on young Conor Bradley, just 20 years old, on the right side of the defense.
Liverpool visit Craven Cottage in the second leg on January 24th.
