Caoimhin Kelleher will be a starter in English League Cup final this weekend. This is in return Liverpool because Kelleher’s services brought the team to the top party Carabao Cup.
Liverpool will face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, Sunday (27/2/2022) evening WIB. This is the first domestic trophy in England besides the Premier League and FA Cup.
Although not as ‘wow’ as the two events, Carabao Cup or the Premier League Cup is still a trophy which means it is so important for every club. Liverpool and Chelsea will try to end the fast title in the event.
Chelsea last won it in 2014/2015, while Liverpool went even longer in the 2011/12 season. Whereas Liverpool is the master of this tournament with eight titles with Manchester City.
For Liverpool, their slick pace to the final could not be separated from Kelleher’s role in goal. The goalkeeper from the Republic of Ireland has always been trusted by Klopp as a starter since the fourth round.
There have been a total of three goals against Kelleher, all of which were matched by Leicester City in the quarter-finals with a score of 3-3. Kelleher then responded with a slick performance in the penalty shootout as well as bringing Liverpool through to the semifinals Carabao Cup.
It is natural that Kelleher was then more trusted by manager Juergen Klopp as the main goalkeeper in the final than Alisson Becker. This tournament can be proof that Kelleher can also bring Liverpool to glory like Alisson.

Caoimhin Kelleher it was difficult to get a place in the first team because of Alisson Becker. This season, Kelleher has made just seven appearances, three of which came in the EFL Cup with three clean sheets and seven goals conceded.
