Liverpool took the lead, with a goal from French defender Ibrahima Konate, in the second minute of first-half stoppage time.
Konate scored his first goal in the English Premier League, after 57 games in a Liverpool shirt since joining German side Leipzig in the summer of 2021.
The hosts equalized with a goal from the Algerian player Rayan Ait Nouri in the 56th minute.
Liverpool secured victory with a second goal scored by Mohamed Salah in the 61st minute from a penalty kick, taking the Egyptian star’s tally to 4 goals in the league this season, after scoring against Ipswich Town, Manchester United and Brentford in the previous rounds.
Salah also scored in the second game in a row, after leaving his mark in a great victory over West Ham United, 5-1, in the English League Cup, last Wednesday night.
The game had a unique event, as it was the first in the history of the English Premier League in which two Arab players scored for two different teams.
With this victory, Liverpool raised its score to 15 points, jumping to the top of the standings, followed by champions Manchester City and Arsenal with 14 points each.
On the other hand, Wolverhampton’s suffering continued, leaving it in twentieth place and last with one point from one draw against five defeats.
