Issahaku, as he is called, was a key player when Ghana won the African Championship for 20 years. He was then voted the championship’s “MVP” and is predicted to have a bright future. At the same time, the achievements led to him being called up to Ghana’s A team when they met Morocco and Ivory Coast in two training internationals.
The 17-year-old super talent is currently ranked as one of Africa’s best talents and of course European top clubs have their eyes on him.
Dortmund backed away
Now the Daily Mirror reports that Liverpool have signed a five-year contract with the 17-year-old – but they were close to losing him. The English newspaper chooses to call him “one of the world’s greatest talents”.
Issahaku had a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen and the plan was for him to sign the contract last week and then undergo the mandatory medical examination.
Then Liverpool stepped into the action and hijacked the transfer. Borussia Dortmund were also interested but then backed down. The transfer sum is stated to be equivalent to eleven million kronor, according to the Mirror.
