Liverpool Set to Overhaul Midfield: Henderson and Fabinho on the Way Out

Liverpool

Liverpool ready to overhaul the midfield even further by letting go Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Two names proffered to be their replacement.

Liverpool are set to overhaul the midfield sector further by selling Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia. Henderson is negotiating with Al Ettifaq and Fabinho is being approached by Al Ittihad.

Releasing these two senior players means Juergen Klopp is completely rebuilding the midfield. Because they released James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who were later replaced by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The departures of Henderson and Fabinho will mean Liverpool will need to find replacements again. So far, at least three names have been linked with the Merseyside club, namely Romeo Lavia (Southampton), Sofyan Amrabat (Fiorentina) and Ryan Gravenberch (Bayern Munich).

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has warned that Klopp needs to find the right replacement, so the decision to release Henderson and Fabinho doesn’t end up being very wrong. He proposed Lavia and Gravenberch, who in profile matched the club’s recruiting principles.

“I like Romeo Lavia from Southampton. It depends on the price too, but I like him because he is a very Liverpool type: only 19 years old, very young, but he has a lot of experience,” he said. Football365.

“Sofyan Amrabat plays in the same position, but a different type of signing for Liverpool because he is older. So I prefer to go for someone like Ryan Gravenberch for example, he is a very good option.”

“If Liverpool let Fabinho go, then I will recruit Romeo Lavia or Ryan Gravenberch,” added Enrique.
