Liverpool Set to Make Record-Breaking Transfer with Signing of Moises Caicedo

The English club FC Liverpool is ready to pay a record transfer fee in the history of British football. He is willing to invest 110 million pounds (about 128 million euros) in the arrival of Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

According to AFP, the agreement between the two clubs is very close. Twenty-one-year-old Caicedo arrived at Brighton in 2021 from Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle for just four million pounds. He spent the autumn part of the 2021/2022 season on loan in Beerschot, Belgium, last year he played 37 matches in the Premier League for Brighton and scored one goal.

He also played for Ecuador at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, in total he has already made 32 starts and three accurate hits in the national team. Chelsea was also eminently interested in his services during the summer transfer period, but the announced transfer fee seemed too high. The previous British transfer record is held by Chelsea, who paid 107 million pounds for the arrival of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January.
