Marko Grujic never got a place in Liverpool. The 25-year-old midfielder has now been officially sold to Porto.
Grujic is the first purchase Jürgen Klopp since managing Liverpool. The Reds then bought Grujic from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016.
The Serbian player did not have much opportunity to play for Liverpool. In total Grujic made 16 appearances for Liverpool and scored one goal in all competitions.
Difficulty penetrating Liverpool’s main squad makes Grujic have to be willing to be loaned to various clubs. Lastly is Porto, who then dared to buy permanently from Liverpool.

“Marko Grujic has today confirmed a permanent move to FC Porto,” Liverpool said in a sincere statement on the club’s official website.
“Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Marko for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future career.”
Grujic had previously joined the Liverpool squad at a recent training camp. He then immediately flew to Portugal after a contract agreement was reached.
“I’m very happy. I did everything to get back to FC Porto and I’m very happy that this day has arrived. The club reached an agreement and returning to FC Porto is the most important thing for me, because I felt really good here last season,” Grujic said. as quoted from the official Porto website.
“I feel a fantastic atmosphere between the club and the fans. Of course I know that FC Porto is a great club, the great history it has and the many trophies it has won.”
“Since the first day I left FC Porto, I received messages from fans asking me to come back. They showed me a lot of love and gave me a lot of support, something I cannot ignore.”
Gujic last season made 36 appearances for Porto in all competitions. He successfully helped the club win the Portuguese League Cup.
