Jakarta –
Liverpool Reportedly looking for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez. The Reds are even said to be ready to make the Uruguayan man the club’s most expensive signing.
Darwin Nunez has looked good this season with Benfica. He scored 34 goals in 41 matches in all competitions.
That good record has made the 22-year-old player linked with many top clubs in England, one of which is Liverpool. It also happens that Sadio Mane has plans to leave Anfield with one year remaining on his contract.
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool are ready to spend up to £85 million for Darwin Nunez. This figure could make Darwin Nunez the most expensive signing for Liverpool, which is currently held by Virgil van Dijk when he was brought from Southampton in 2018 for 75 million pounds.
Liverpool’s new sporting director, Julian Ward, has also entered into negotiations with Benfica. Darwin Nunez is reportedly interested in a move to Anfield.
Darwin Nunez had torn Liverpool’s goal twice in the Champions League. Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, was impressed with the striker.
“What a cute kid, isn’t he? And a good player too. Very good, very good. I of course knew before, but he more or less played in front of me in a fierce battle with Ibrahima Konate,” said Klopp.
“He is physically strong, fast, calm in his finishing. Good, very good. I always say in this situation, if he is healthy, there is a big career ahead of him.”
