Liverpool Ready to Break Transfer Record for Kylian Mbappe, Competing with Real Madrid

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MERSEYSIDE — Liverpool seems serious about being a competitor Real Madrid in signing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe. They are reportedly ready to break the world transfer record for Mbappe to come to Anfield.

Liverpool and Madrid have been competitors since the previous year, but the player ultimately chose to stay on PSG and extended a new contract. Now Mbappe has informed PSG of his plans not to extend a new contract.

That means Mbappe can leave as a free agent at the end of next season. Hearing Mbappe’s wishes, PSG don’t want to lose the star for free.

Therefore, PSG is determined to sell him this summer if they still refuse to sign a new contract. So far, Madrid is still Mbappe’s main goal. However, Liverpool emerged as a bully to Madrid.

FIFA agent Marco Kirdemir to Brand said Liverpool were ready to spend $300 million for Mbappe and break the world transfer record. And if that happens it will definitely damage Madrid’s bid for the France international.

“Liverpool are competing with Real Madrid and want to pay a heavy price for Mbappe, the fortune he is talking about is around 300 million,” Kirdermir said. SportsmoleThursday (29/6/2023).

Madrid have spent a fortune to sign Jude Bellingham this summer. They also released money with the arrival of Joselu. But apart from Liverpool and Madrid, reports have emerged that Manchester United could be Mbappe’s other destination if Sheikh Jassim takes charge of the Red Devils.

Mbappe ended the 2022/2023 season with a record of 41 goals and 10 assists in 43 matches in all competitions. He became PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer in a 4-2 win over Nantes last March. In total Mbappe scored 212 goals and 98 assists in 260 matches in all competitions.
