Liverpool busy negotiating with RB Leipzig. They just loaned Carvalho. The Reds are now trying to bring in Dominik Szoboszlai from Leipzig.
Liverpool officially loan Fabio Carvalho to RB Leipzig. The Portuguese player is on loan for one season with no permanent option.
Carvalho is expected to get playing minutes at Leipzig after it was difficult to be the first choice at Liverpool. The 20-year-old midfielder has played 22 matches with Liverpool since joining from Fulham at the start of the 2022/2023 season with a contribution of three goals. However, he played a lot off the bench.
“As a young player it was a big step for me to move from England to the Bundesliga and RB Leipzig. I am joining a strong team, which has been very successful in recent years. Now, I want to help build on this. I look forward to taking on the challenge new,” said Carvalho as quoted from the official RB Leipzig website.
After completing Carvalho’s loan, negotiations between Liverpool and Leipzig seem to be continuing. This is because the Reds are trying to recruit the pillar of Die Roten Bullen, Dominik Szoboszlai.
Liverpool previously competed with Newcastle United for Szoboszlai. The Magpies reportedly withdrew from the competition to recruit the Hungarian midfielder. This opens up Liverpool’s opportunity to be at the forefront of getting Szoboszlai.
Szoboszlai was rumored to have a release clause of 70 million euros. However, this clause is said to have expired, making the Reds unable to redeem Szoboszlai directly.
They now have to negotiate with Leipzig about the price of the 22-year midfielder. Carvalho’s loan is a good sign that the communication between the two clubs is going well. This condition is certainly expected by Liverpool to be able to help bring in Szoboszlai.
