Owen Beck is set to spend the rest of the season at Liverpool unless he returns to Dundee on loan.
Beck was dropped early from a successful spell with the Scottish Premiership side earlier this month with additional cover needed at left-back following injuries to Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
His performances for Dundee have caught the attention of a number of clubs and Scottish champions Celtic are reportedly interested in making a permanent bid for the 21-year-old in this month’s transfer window.

However, those hopes have now realistically been dashed as Jurgen Klopp handed Beck his Premier League debut as a late substitute in the 4-0 win at Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
FIFA rules state that while a player can be registered with three different clubs in a campaign, he can only play official matches for two of them. It means that, while Celtic could sign Beck this month, he will not be able to play as a defender until next season.
The left-back made 20 appearances for Dundee during the first half of the season and could yet be sent back to Dens Park before the transfer window closes next Thursday night.
Beck had been suspended during Liverpool’s FA Cup third round victory over Arsenal, but was on the bench for the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against Fulham.
The Wales under-21 international is now vying for a first start for the Reds in their FA Cup fourth-round tie at home against Championship side Norwich City on Sunday.
