Liverpool, Jamie Carragher | The club hero believes it should be the end of Liverpool’s gold trio

They have been a huge success for Liverpool, but now former defender Jamie Carragher thinks the club should take action.

The attacking trio consisting of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah has for several years been a nightmare for most defenses in the Premier League and Champions League.

This season, however, it has been more fluffy for the Liverpool stars.

Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher thinks it is now time to break up the trio at the top of the Merseyside club, and already this summer.

Will split Liverpool’s gold trio

Carragher believes Liverpool’s attacking line has been disappointing for a long time.

“People have talked about Liverpool’s problems in central defense, but their biggest problem is at the other end of the pitch,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

The former Premier League profile is aware that it is not common for an attacking trio to stay together for as many years as what has been seen with Mané, Firmino and Salah.

– When you look back at brilliant attacking series from before, they have probably held together for three years before someone goes on to other clubs. Liverpool’s attacking trio have probably been together for four or five years, so it must be split this summer, Carragher says.

Disappointing season

First, however, Jurgen Klopp’s men will in any case finish the Premier League season.

There are five games left for Liverpool who still have a hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Still, it’s no secret that the season has been a downturn for the reigning league champions.

Liverpool is currently in 6th place with 54 points. There are 23 points behind league leader Manchester City.

On Sunday, Klopp’s men will be in action against rival Manchester United at Old Trafford.

You can follow the match in Nettavisens livesystem from 5.30 pm.
