The English football club FC Liverpool has agreed with Benfica Lisbon on the transfer of Darwin Nunez. The Portuguese team confirmed this on Monday.
Benfica is to collect 75 million euros for the 22-year-old Uruguayan striker at first, but the amount can climb to one hundred million with bonuses. In that case, Liverpool would break its record pass when it paid $ 75 million in 2018 for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.

Nunez scored 34 goals in 41 games for the Lisbon club last season and also scored in both quarter-finals of the Champions League with Liverpool (1: 3, 3: 3). Manchester United was also reportedly interested in his services, the BBC reported. Nunez came to Benfica in September 2020 for 24 million euros from Almeria.
The arrival of Nunez could mean the definitive departure of Senegalese striker Sadio Mane, whose contract expires in a year. Bayern Munich is very interested in its services, but Liverpool allegedly rejected its first offer of almost 30 million euros. The club values the 30-year-old Senegalese striker at at least 45 million euros.
