Liverpool fought back and won after Berge scoring – VG

(Liverpool – Sheffield United 2-1) Sander Berge provided Sheffield United lead from the chalk mark after 13 minutes. But then Liverpool fought back with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota in the lead roles.

The match was just over ten minutes old when the whole of Liverpool had to hold their breath. After a VAR check, Sheffield United were awarded a penalty kick after a tackle from Fabinho that was put in the penalty area. And no one took the punishment from a Norwegian perspective. Sander Berge took the ball and got ready. From eleven meters he sent Alisson one way and the ball the other.

But unfortunately for Sheffield United and Berge’s part, Liverpool woke up later in the match, and after goals from Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, Liverpool won the match against Sheffield United.

– It’s disappointing. It’s been a bit like this this season. This was probably our best match this year, and I feel we are so close to a new goal at the same time as we are far away, says Berge to Sky Sports who despite the disappointment brings out a small smile.

– It was hard as expected. Sheffield United is a good team that is difficult to beat, but we got the three points we needed, Henderson smiles to Sky Sports after the game.

Firmino with the first of the year

Thus, Berge sent Sheffield United in the lead after 13 minutes of play at Anfield. It was also his second goal in the Premier League as he scored against Tottenham last season.

But the home team, who had managed the most ball in the first half, got a goal at the break. After 41 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Aaron Ramsdale might have resulted in another goal for Senegal. On the return, however, Firmino appeared, and with an open goal in front of him, he could not miss. Thus, it was 1-1 between the teams at the break.

That goal was also Firmino’s first in the Premier League this season.
