Jürgen Klopp’s team remained undefeated for a long time. You could even dream of Liverpool closing the Premier League season without a defeat – the first championship title since 1990 is only a matter of form for the Reds anyway. Well, as the season slowly turns onto the home stretch, they suddenly start to mess. Liverpool suffered the second bankruptcy in a row on Tuesday evening.

Klopp’s team had to play against Chelsea in the FA Cup away in London. And the game threatened to slip away from the Reds early on. Already in the 13th minute Willian shot Chelsea in the front after a mistake by substitute goalkeeper Adrian. Liverpool started without their stars Mohamed Salah (Ex-FCB) and Roberto Firmino. Xherdan Shaqiri was still missing injured. Nevertheless, a top team stood on the field. However, Liverpool failed to get the game on Stamford Bridge on the right track after the 1-0 goal.
Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley finally took heart in the 63rd minute and skilfully dribbled the midfield. Outside of the penalty area, the English international then pulled off and netted a massive 2: 0 for the “Blues”. The game was decided.

Weakness phase with a high price?
Liverpool is thus eliminated from the FA Cup. The team runs the risk of losing two of three possible titles this season due to two defeats in a row. In addition to the cup, there is also the threat of being eliminated in the Champions League: there they lost the first knockout round first leg against Atlético Madrid 0-1.
The defeat in London is the second setback for the Reds after the weekend’s zero in the Premier League. On Saturday, Salah and Co. lost to Watford – a relegation candidate.
