Liverpool club extended the contract of young player Abdi Sharif Thursday morning.
The 19-year-old has been training with Liverpool buds since the age of six, and officially joined the club three years later.
Sharif was on the Liverpool U-18 squad who won the Etihad Youth Cup in 2019 and first participated in 23 years in January of the same year.
In statements to the official website of Liverpool, the young player said: “This means a lot to me, I was excited when signing.”
He added: “I do not think it is easy to have a chance to play for a great and great club like Liverpool.”
He concluded: “I want to thank everyone who stood by my side during my injury, eager to return to the stadiums again.”
It is worth noting that Sharif was injured during the summer of 2019 and is still in the rehabilitation phase after undergoing surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
