Liverpool have crawled through the eye of the needle at Atlético Madrid. In Madrid it was 2-3 and the lead role was for Antoine Griezmann. Real Madrid set a mega-result in Ukraine.
Atlético Madrid 2-3 Liverpool
Atlético, with Luis Suarez on the bench, were completely overwhelmed in the Wanda Metropolitano in the early stages of the match. Liverpool soon took the lead through James Milner, who deflected a shot from Mohamed Salah, passing goalkeeper Jan Oblak. When Naby Keita fired in the 0-2, it looked to be a grueling evening for Atlético.

In no time, however, the 0-2 was turned into 2-2. Antoine Griezmann, the main protagonist of the evening, scored the connecting goal after twenty minutes, and after more than half an hour, on the advice of João Felix, he also equalized.
Griezmann would also be in the spotlight in the second half. He was sent off after an hour for allegedly committing a ‘serious foul’ on Milner. Griezmann’s leg was too high, so he had to leave. Fifteen minutes before the end, everyone at Atlético protested when the referee pointed to the spot for a foul on a Liverpool player. Salah scored 2-3 from the spot.
Atlético also seemed to get a penalty, but that was reversed by VAR. Liverpool are still clear after three games and take a five-point lead over Atlético, who will again be the opponent in three weeks.
FC Porto – AC Milan 1-0
It Champions Leaguecurtain seems to be slowly falling for AC Milan, which also lost the third game. FC Porto won 1-0 in Portugal and is level with Atlético in points.
The big chances were for Porto, although that did not result in any goals. Milan, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the bench, was hardly in danger. The only goal of the game came after an hour of play and was scored by Luis Diaz, who scored in the far corner. A final offensive by Milan was unsuccessful.
Milan is not completely without a chance, but can no longer afford a misstep.
Inter – Sheriff 3-1
After victories over Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid, Sheriff Tiraspol knows where it stands again. In San Siro, Internazionale was 3-1 too strong. Champions League debutant Tiraspol had little to say in Milan and was trailed by Edin Dzeko after half an hour.
The club from Moldova was allowed to believe in a stunt again after Sebastian Thill’s equalizer, but Inter quickly took the game back to itself. Arturo Vidal scored on a pass from Dzeko and Stefan de Vrij on a pass from Denzel Dumfries.
Inter takes third place in Group D after three matches. Sheriff is still the leader on goal difference.
Shakhtar 0-5 Real Madrid
Real Madrid have repaired the damage from the game against Sheriff Tiraspol and won by a whopping 0-5 on Tuesday-evening at Shakhtar Donetsk, which has only collected one point. The Ukrainians kept things closed for a long time, but fell behind after 37 minutes by an own goal by Sergey Kryvtsov.
Due to the narrow margin, Shakhtar could secretly hope for a turnaround, but Real quickly put an end to that hope. Vinicius Junior scored in minutes 51 and 56 and thus took the loot for his team.
In the final phase, the floor was given to Rodrygo and Karim Benzema.
