Liverpool feasting on goals at home Toulouse in matchday third Group E Europa League. The Reds won big 5-1.
Liverpool vs Toulouse took place at Anfield Stadium, on Friday (27/10/2023). Liverpool took the lead from Diogo Jota’s goal in the 9th minute.
However, Thijs Dalinga’s score in the 15th minute equalized the points. In the 30th minute, Wataru Endo was able to restore the Reds’ lead.

Darwin Nunez made Liverpool close the first half with a 3-1 lead thanks to his goal in the 34th minute. After the break, the hosts were able to add two goals.
Ryan Gravenbach scored Liverpool’s fourth goal in the 65th minute. Mohamed Salah then closed Liverpool’s goal party after shaking Toulouse’s net in the 90+3 minute.
This victory makes Liverpool firmly at the top of Group E with nine points. Meanwhile, Toulouse is in third place with four points.
The Course of the Match
Liverpool were able to open the scoring when the game had only been running for nine minutes. Diogo Jota stabbed from midfield.
He broke free from the siege of Toulouse players. This player from Portugal then fired a hard kick which nestled into the right corner of the opponent’s goal.
Toulouse only needed six minutes to equalize the numbers. Thijs Dallinga was free from the offside trap. Caoimhin Kelleher couldn’t stop his low shot.
Liverpool were able to take the lead again in the 30th minute. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross met Wataru Endo’s head. Endo’s header made Guillaume Restes dead.
Liverpool moved away four minutes later. Curtis Jones’ shot which was blocked by a Toulouse player went towards Darwin Nunez who was standing in front of the goal. Nunez calmly converted this opportunity into a goal.
The score 3-1 for Liverpool lasted until halftime.
After the break, the Reds’ goal party continued in the 65th minute. Darwin Nunez wasted a golden opportunity.
He was able to get past Restes but his shot hit the crossbar. Luckily, Ryan Gravenberch was there who immediately took the wild ball. His shot put Liverpool ahead 4-1.
Mohamed Salah closed Liverpool’s goal party thanks to his goal in the final minute of the match. Receiving the ball from the left side, Salah calmly outwits an opposing player before launching a hard kick which results in a goal.
Liverpool closed the 90 minutes with a 5-1 win.
