Britain currently has 43,414 official corona deaths. Major events remain strictly prohibited, yet thousands of people took to the streets of Liverpool on Thursday night to celebrate Liverpool’s first league title in thirty years. They did not take social distancing into account.
“By ignoring the corona measures, we risk endangering public health,” it now sounds in a Liverpool statement. The club supports the city council and the local police. The supporters also damaged the Liver Building, a protected building in Liverpool, after fireworks.
“From the moment it is possible, we will work on a victory parade through the city”, the club, the city council and the police promise. “But for the moment, the health and safety of our residents remains the number one priority.”
