London –
Liverpool managed to continue the pace of victory after rolling Arsenal 3-1. However, behind the victory was the Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah called selfish.
The Liverpool vs Arsenal duel was held at Anfield, Tuesday (29/9/2020), WIB. The Reds fell behind first after Andy Robertson’s blunder was maximized by Alexandre Lacazette to put Arsenal ahead in the 25th minute.
However, Liverpool only needed nine minutes to turn things around. Just three minutes later, Sadio Mane leveled the score before Robertson atoned for his ‘sin’ so it was level towards halftime.
Liverpool’s new signing Diogo Jota marked his debut in a sweet way after scoring three minutes before normal time ended. The Portuguese forward could have gotten his goal earlier. However, the ball that rolled into the lane he just grabbed by Mohamed Salah which then loses the ball.
Salah has scored three goals in Liverpool’s three Premier League games. Former Manchester United and England star Gary Neville highlighted Salah’s selfishness.
“That’s the selfish side of his game,” Neville said Sky Sports. “He thought ‘you haven’t got the goal yet’, and immediately took it from him. That’s the ball for Jota.”
“His greed is indeed one of his strengths but he should have let his partner take it. He (Jota) would have scored if not for Salah.”
“You no can be like that Dong. “As a great player like him, he knows it doesn’t look good,” Neville added Mohamed Salah.
