Liverpool continues to improve and defeat hosts Newcastle

Liverpool team continued its development and ascending rhythm and achieved its second consecutive victory by defeating its host Newcastle United with two unanswered goals, Saturday, in the twenty-fourth stage of the English Premier League.

Darwin Nunez opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Cody Khakpo added the second goal in the 17th minute.

The victory is the second for Liverpool, after defeating Everton in the Merseyside derby, with a clean double, in the last round.

Liverpool raised its score to 35 points, advancing to eighth place on goal difference against Brentford, while Newcastle’s balance froze at 41 points and threatened to lose its fourth position if fifth Tottenham (39 points) managed to win over its guest West Ham United on Sunday.
