Books – Ayman Gilberto:

Ahmed Schubert, former vice president of the Egyptian Football Association, was keen to send a message to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, after news of his failure to attend the CAF for the best in 2019.

Salah is competing with the duo Sadio Mane for Liverpool, Senegal and Riyadh Mahrez, for Manchester City and Algeria for the Best African Player of the Year award for 2019, in a ceremony to be organized by Hurghada on Tuesday.

Masrawy earlier pointed to the tendency of Mohamed Salah not to attend the ceremony, amid attempts by “K” to persuade “King of Egypt” to attend the ceremony.

Schubert said in remarks through his radio program on Radio “ON” “The city of Hurghada is decorated for the best party in Africa, we are all waiting for a wonderful and special ceremony, Egypt has recently become organizing great events in a dazzling way.”

He added, “According to the official letter sent by Liverpool Club, Sadio Mani’s name was present regarding the attendance of the party. The name of Mohamed Salah did not exist, so would Salah come alone, especially since the ceremony will be held in Egypt.”

He stated, “There is no confirmation of Salah attending or not, we are waiting until the last moments, the award was far from Egypt, and she returned to her thanks to Salah in recent years. He has accomplished it twice in a row, and Mahmoud Al-Khatib has previously won it.”

“I hope that Salah is present at the party, his chances of winning the award may be less than Manny, but it would be good for him to be present and hand over the prize to his colleague in Liverpool, just as Manny did with him in Senegal last year when Salah won the award.”

“Modric has already handed over the golden ball to Messi, it would be great if Salah repeated the same thing with Salah, we are waiting for what will happen in the coming hours,” he added.
