Liverpool lost again, now to Fulham, in continued competition Premier League. James Milner considered the Reds to be below standard.
Liverpool swallowed their sixth consecutive defeat at Anfield on Sunday (7/3/2021). Facing Fulham, Mohamed Salah et al lost 0-1, after Alisson’s goal was broken into by Mario Lemina.
Throughout the match, Liverpool were made difficult. Fulham was able to defend well, so that the back line was difficult to penetrate.
Opta noted, Liverpool can make 16 shots throughout the match. However, only three shots were aimed right at Fulham’s goal.
Milner rate, Liverpool are performing below standard. In addition, the opponent’s tactics made the defending champion overwhelmed.
“Obviously it was not good enough by the standards we set. We made changes today and we did not really start very well,” said Milner, on the club’s official website.
“They spread their players very well in the first half, and their tactics caused us problems where we couldn’t get too close to them.
“In the second half, we had a lot of balls and maybe had a chance to score but didn’t really create as many as we wanted,” explained Milner.
The defeat made Liverpool slump again in the Premier League standings. Jurgen Klopp’s foster children have now dropped to 8th place with 43 points, overtaken by Tottenham Hotspur.
