Liverpool beat Ipswich in the start of English football

Title contenders Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 away to kick off the Premier League, with partial play in the first round on Saturday.

Meanwhile,Aston Villa beat West Ham -as a visitor- by 2 to 1, while Arsenal beat Wolverhampton by 2 to 0; Newcastle beat Southampton 1-0 and Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Bournemouth.

Following the departure of legendary coach Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool began their journey in the competition with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Ipswich, thanks to goals from Portuguese Diogo Jotay
of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, his great figure.

In Liverpool, now managed by the Dutchman Arne Slot, the Argentine Alexis Mac Allister started, playing the full 90 minutes.

The Gunners, led by Spaniard Mikel Arteta, are aiming to challenge for the title once again, as are Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, the Big Five of British football.

The matchday will continue on Sunday with Brentford-Crystal Palace and Chelsea-Manchester City, while on Monday it will be the turn of Leicester-Tottenham.
