Liverpool beat Burnley in front of a packed Anfield

Liverpool have had a planned start to the Premier League season.

In the home meeting with Burnley, they took the second victory of the season in as many attempts.

After 18 minutes, Diogo Jota sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. That after a well-aimed post by Konstantinos Tsimikas, who replaced injured Andy Robertson in the left-back position.

However, Robertson was back on the bench. From there, he then saw Sadio Mané extend to 2-0 in the second half, ahead of a packed Anfield for the first time since the corona pandemic broke out. 2-0 was also the end result.

Burnley, who last winter broke Liverpool’s suite of 68 straight home wins, were goalless and thus went on the second straight loss.

In a week, much tougher opposition awaits Liverpool, when Chelsea come to visit.
