Liverpool and Suburbia close their physical stores

Given the health emergency caused by COVID-19 in Mexico, the Liverpool and Suburbia establishments will close from today until April 30 in all of Mexico.

The Port of Liverpool, which also operates Williams Sonoma and other stores, announced that will continue to serve its customers through its digital platforms and will have home delivery.

“Derived from the declaration of a health emergency due to force majeure due to the COVID-19 pandemic issued on Monday, March 30 by the federal government, we have made the decision to close from Tuesday, March 31, until 30 April all our Liverpool stores, Suburbia stores, shopping malls Galleries and boutiques of various brands at the national level ”, the company reported in a communicated to the Mexican Stock Exchange.

He explained that will operate with a reduced workforce in the areas of reception and shipment of products, as well as in distribution centers.

In the financial aspect, he said that the contingency due to COVID-19 has caused since mid-March a significant decrease in customers in its establishments, for which he highlighted that they implement an emergency plan to reduce their operating expenses and capital investments.

The Port of Liverpool has 123 units in operation in 57 cities in the country and is the third largest issuer of credit cards in Mexico, with more than 5.5 million accounts.
