00:10.Large naval maneuvers of the Western countries will soon begin in the Baltic Sea, in which the reaction to Russia’s attack in the region will be worked out, the commander of the German navy, Vice Admiral Jans Kristiāns Kāks, said on Friday.
About 30 ships and more than 3,000 soldiers of Western countries will take part in the maneuvers.
“We are sending a clear message to Russia about vigilance: not when we are on duty,” Kaak told reporters in Berlin. “A credible deterrence strategy must include the ability to attack.”
Maneuvers “Northern Coasts” will start on September 9 and will last for two weeks.
