The Budget session of India’s Parliament began on Friday with both houses adjourned till Monday. Congress President Rahul Gandhi attended the session and is expected to speak after demanding an apology for his remarks while in the UK. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with top ministers in Parliament before the session began. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also held a meeting with opposition leaders ahead of the session. Rahul Gandhi met with Speaker Om Birla and requested time to speak in Lok Sabha over “defamatory” allegations.
