MotoGP – Good afternoon dear readers of FormulaPassion.it MotoGP enthusiasts and welcome back to the appointment dedicated to the live news of the Sunday race in Jerez de la Frontera, venue for the fourth round of the 2023 premier class world championship. The dynamics of the accident are clarified: Quartararo (Yamaha) found himself in the middle between Oliveira (Aprilia RNF) and Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46): the Portuguese suffered the worst, first hit by the Frenchman and then thrown from the bike.

What to expect from the Spanish Grand Prix

Considering the performance of yesterday’s Sprint, with the KTMs losing pace towards the end, the favorite for the win could be Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). Poleman Aleix Espargarò (Aprilia) and Jorge Martin (Ducati Prima Pramac) could also benefit from the length of Sunday’s race. The two KTMs of Brad Binder and Jack Miller could still have their say for a podium finish. Maverick Vinales (Aprilia) seems to have good pace, but everything will depend on his sprint at the start, the real Achilles’ heel of his weekends. Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini) and Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46) could come back from the rear and maybe aim for the top 5. Practically zero hopes of recovery for Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who is hoping for a sensational start to remedy the chronic shortcomings of his M1 in the overtaking phase.

The last stage of the new MotoGP 2023 format is the traditional Sunday race of the Spanish Grand Prix, which will start at 15:00. In Jerez de la Frontera, scene of the fourth world championship contest of 2023, three starting riders will be missing, due to injuries sustained in the first two races, namely Enea Bastianini (Ducati), Pol Espargarò (KTM GasGas) and Marc Marquez (Honda), with last two replaced respectively by Jonas Folger and Iker Lecuona. Two wildcards were also on the track: Dani Pedrosa (KTM) and Stefan Bradl (Honda).
The 12 laps of the Sprint on Saturday (11 after the interruption) recorded the victory of Brad Binder (KTM), who preceded Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Jack Miller (KTM) to the finish line. Nothing new for the Sunday grand prix, which will keep the traditional number of laps (25) and the classic score (25, 20, 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) and will use the starting grid generated by qualifying.
