On the night of this November 5, the United States is waiting to find out which two candidates will still be in power in one of the most influential countries in the world.
The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, and the Democrat Kamala Harris had campaigned against statements and proposals regarding the issues that most concern Americans.
Among these are the economy, employment, security, abortion and the most delicate of all, the growing irregular immigration. In the next few hours it will be known, then, who the Americans chose in those elections that the media in that country said was historic.
Harris is still collecting electoral votes, but Trump is ahead
10:00 p.m.: Vice President Kamala Harris would take 28 votes in New York. Trump loses again in his hometown.

Harris is narrowing Trump’s lead
09:30 pm: As expected, former President Trump won 40 electoral votes in Texas. It would also be in South Dakota and North Dakota as well as Wyoming, each with three electoral votes.
Harris would give Delaware (with three votes), Rhode Island (four) and Illinois, with 19 votes. In this way, the Democrat shortens the advantage that the Republicans had.
Trump is still leading
09:00 pm: Former President Donald Trump won Arkansas (six electoral votes) and South Carolina (nine).
Meanwhile, Harris would be in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Massachusetts. In the first one there are three electoral votes, in the second one 10 and in the third one there are 11.
At least 270 electoral votes are needed to win the White House.
No surprises so far, with Trump leading the way
08:30 pm: Around 8:30 at night, Colombian time, the Republican already had an advantage of at least 1.5 million popular votes over the vice president. At that time Trump had 54 percent of the vote followed by Harris with 45 percent.
The states in which the former American president would be the virtual winner of the Electoral College votes are Florida, West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine and Georgia.
Harris, on the other hand, would hold firm in Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
However, these results are temporary and there are still many states that could leave each candidate with a direct ticket for the White House.
At that time, CNN projected Trump with 99 electoral college votes compared to 27 for Harris. Something that could change as the hours pass.
