Spain wants to tighten the corona reins in the larger cities. The Spanish Minister of Health proposes stricter measures against the spread of the corona virus in municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants. These are cities where more than 500 infections per 100,000 inhabitants have been identified.
Spain is one of the most affected European countries with nearly 750,000 infections and more than 31,000 corona deaths. After the outbreak of the virus at the beginning of this year, the southern European country was practically locked up. The lockdown had gradually eased, but due to a new increase in the number of cases, all kinds of restrictions were imposed.
Minister Illa of Public Health now wants to continue with measures in the trouble spots, Spanish media report. For example, he wants people in the affected areas to move less.
