LIVE | The corona virus is only still living in Zeeland | Inland

The number of corona infections is limited only in the province of Zeeland. Ten positive tests were recorded in the province between Saturday and Sunday. That comes down to 2.6 infections for 100,000 Zeelanders, making Zeeland the only province well below the so-called signal value of the government.

The signal value stands at 7 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. If the number of corona cases in 24 hours exceeds this, measures may be necessary. The more people become infected, the more people will end up in a hospital and the greater the pressure on care can become, is the thinking behind it. Restrictions have already been introduced in fourteen regions to contain the spread of the virus. Zeeland was exactly on the signal value last Thursday, for the first time since the beginning of April, but that was a rare outlier.

21 of the 25 safety regions in the Netherlands exceeded the signal value on Sunday. Relatively speaking, Amsterdam-Amstelland had the most cases. For every 100,000 inhabitants, 50.4 were tested positive. That is more than seven times the signal value. Rotterdam-Rijnmond had 34.3 infections per 100,000 people. This was followed by Haaglanden (31.8), Zaanstreek-Waterland (20.1), Brabant-Zuidoost (19.3) and Hollands Midden (18.9).

Limburg-Noord was also above the limit on Sunday, for the second time since April. The region, which includes Venlo, Roermond and Weert, had 44 positive tests, or 8.5 per 100,000 people.

Three regions remained just below the line on Sunday. These are Friesland (6.8), South Limburg (6.7) and IJsselland (6.6).
