Ukraine’s electricity grid has been stabilized following widespread Russian attacks across the country aimed at destroying critical energy infrastructure and disrupting electricity and hot water supplies, national energy operator Ukrenerho said Thursday.
The head of the company, Volodymyrs Kudrickis, announced on Facebook that there are currently no plans to implement any planned emergency shutdowns, as specialists have “stabilized energy supplies in all regions of Ukraine”.
“We have withstood probably the largest missile attack ever carried out on energy infrastructures,” he added, acknowledging that the new energy restrictions depended “on the fact that there will be new shootings and bombings”.
Russia intensively bombed Ukraine for two days, damaging energy infrastructure across the country. The Russian president announced that it was a response to the bombing of the Crimean bridge.
Kiev has called on Ukrainians to limit electricity consumption as electricity and hot water outages hit towns and villages across Ukraine.
