Team news

The Swiss talisman Granit Xhaka will be forfeited to suspension after collecting a second tournament yellow card in the win over France.

Coach Vladimir Petkovic said: “The absence of Granit is a setback, but I have an idea how we are going to deal with it.

“In any case, it means that everyone on the pitch has to give 10 percent more because Spain is a great team and they scored 10 goals in their last two games.”

Denis Zakaria is likely to replace Xhaka.

Jordi Alba could replace José Gaya on Spain’s left back, but Luis Enrique is unlikely to make his usual series of changes before this game.

Pau Torres probably lost his fighting chance to return to the team after fighting in air battles when he faced the Croats.
