The United States women’s team will face South Korea on Tuesday at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. The two teams drew scoreless Thursday in Kansas City, and the game is the last of a two-game series between the teams. Tuesday’s game is also a goodbye game for USWNT player Carli Lloyd.
The 17-year-old veteran is stepping away from the game after announcing her retirement in August. Lloyd is currently the second most played player in world soccer history, with 315 games played and 134 international goals, third in USWNT history and fourth in the sport. She will play her final game at USWNT on Tuesday, before wrapping up her regular season run in the NWSL with NJ / NY Gotham FC.

stories
USWNT: While the team is likely to see Carli Lloyd in the lineup in their last game, there are questions about how they will position themselves otherwise. The team struggled to defeat South Korea and did not have the extra pass in the final third of last week. The Americans were tested on the flanks, while Kelley O’Hara and Casey Krueger took care of the initial defense. While there will likely be no drastic changes to the latest post-Olympics exhibition game and what is billed as a commemorative match, there will be eyes on America’s attack and completion.
South Korea: The South Korean team ended a 22-game winning streak at home to the USWNT in their previous encounter and will try to spoil what should be a night of celebration. The team is likely to look to another solid midfield performance from captain Soyun Ji and another great game from goalkeeper Younggeul Yoon. Yoon faced 19 shots from the USWNT in Thursday’s goalless draw.
