Live Results and Analysis of the General Elections of 23-J in Tarragona

General elections of 23-J, liveResults of the General Elections of 23-J in Tarragona.

New Sunday of election day. The Spaniards have not missed their appointment with the polls, one of the most momentous in which it will be seen whether Pedro Sánchez can revalidate his coalition government or, on the contrary, the change of cycle has arrived in Spain. The polling stations have brought together millions of people who have exercised their right to vote between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. this day.

Their ballots will determine who will be part of the Congress of Deputies, from which the future Executive and the next president will emerge. Among the most prominent candidates are Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), Alberto Núñez-Feijóo (PP), Yolanda Díaz (Sumar) and Santiago Abascal (Vox).

With the count underway, we show you below the live graph of the results of the general elections in Tarragona:

Yolanda Diaz (Sumar), Pedro Sanchez (PSOE), Alberto Nunez Feijoo (PP) and Santiago Abascal (Vox).

Governing alone is almost impossible. To get a monochrome executive it is necessary to reach half of the seats plus one. That is, if the Congress of Deputies is made up of a total of 350 representatives of the different parties. Therefore, half is at 175, and the absolute majority at 176 seats.

Less than a week before the elections, few details are escaping about the career and personal life of the candidates for the Presidency of the Government

And, if no party reaches an absolute majority, as has happened since the arrival of the multiparty system in 2015, the pact process arrives. This already happened in the 2019 elections, when PSOE and Unidas Podemos had to negotiate to achieve a coalition government. The important thing will be that, whatever the parties are, they have a total of 176 deputies.

Regardless of whether an agreement is reached or not, one month after the elections are held, the Congress of Deputies is set up, including the appointment of the members of the board and the president of the Chamber. In the following days, the king will receive the candidates at the Zarzuela Palace to appoint the person in charge of forming the Government.

If Congress approves the investiture of the president with the aforementioned 176 deputies, a new Government is formed. If this does not ultimately happen, a period of two months opens to carry out new investiture attempts. Once this period has expired, the Parliament is dissolved and new elections are called 54 days later.
