It is currently very difficult to make an appointment for a corona test. Of the more than one hundred test locations in the Netherlands, only four have enough space in the next 48 hours, confirms the umbrella organization GGD GHOR Nederland. Ten other locations are almost fully booked for the next two days.
It is almost impossible to make an appointment at the other ninety locations. If a spot becomes available in 48 hours, it will be reserved very quickly. “The places are booked up faster than new places are added. There is more demand than supply ”, according to the GGD organization.
According to the dome, this is due to scarcity. “The ministry is no longer allowed to scale up, we are no longer allowed to add more test lanes, or extend the opening hours. We must not create more space for tests because we are at the maximum capacity in the laboratories. We do our utmost to distribute the scarcity, but the problem is scarcity. ”
