Frankfurt am Main – The next friendly opponent for Eintracht Frankfurt in the preparation for the season is certain. And it is a real top-class!

On Saturday, July 23, in Grödig near Salzburg, they face current Dutch champions and Champions League participants Ajax Amsterdam. The club announced this on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast by Sky, SPORT1 and EintrachtTV.
For the Adlerträger it will be the fifth game in preparation – and certainly the most difficult.

Ajax is now the record champion in the Netherlands with 36 titles. The White-Reds ended three of the last four seasons at the top of the table. In 2021 they got the double. They were also in the final of the Dutch Cup in 2022, but were beaten 2-1 by PSV Eindhoven.
The only time the two clubs faced each other was on August 29, 2020. The Dutch won the test match in the Johan Cruyff Arena 2-1 (1-0). The hit for the Hessians scored RB Leipzig migrated André Silva (26).

An era came to an end at Ajax this year: After four and a half successful years, head coach Erik ten Hag (52) left the capital club and switched to Manchester United in the Premier League.
He was succeeded by an old acquaintance from the Bundesliga. Alfred Schleuder (49) coached TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the 2019/20 season. After differences with the club management, his contract was terminated prematurely. Most recently, Schleuder led FC Brugge to the Belgian championship.
There will be no reunion for Frankfurt with their former player Sébastien Haller (28). The Ivorian scored 34 goals (9 assists) in 43 competitive games for Ajax last season; including eleven stalls in the Champions League alone, where Amsterdam lost in the round of 16 against Benfica Lisbon.
