Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The Indonesian economy is now entering the growth momentum and recovery phase, which is reflected in the economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 which shot up to 7.07%. Now business activities are starting to stretch, starting from micro and corporate, increasing exports to improving community activities.
In welcoming the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) together with the largest and integrated economic media CNBC Indonesia encourages synergy to maintain momentum and optimism for economic recovery. Himbara, which is under the auspices of the Indonesian Ministry of SOEs, plays an active role in maintaining this momentum and optimism that the Indonesian economy can rise and will recover soon.
In the event entitled ‘Synergy to Maintain Economic Recovery Momentum and Optimism’, CNBC Indonesia presented a dialogue to welcome this new hope. Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara and Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti will be present.
In addition, leaders of Himbara member banks will also be present, namely the Chairman of Himbara and President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) Sunarso, President Director of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) Darmawan Junaidi, President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) Royke Tumilar, and President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BBTN) Haru Koesmahargyo.
One of the roles of banks is to channel stimulus to stimulate the economy, both by placing government funds in Himbara which is then channeled into credit and other stimuli. Government spending, both routine and subsidies, such as interest subsidies, KUR, salaries, are the drivers of economic recovery.
Then what is the role of banks and the government’s strategy in welcoming this momentum?
