Many cleaners who have been working in healthcare institutions during the past corona period are in danger of missing out on their healthcare bonus, according to cleaning industry association OSB. According to the organization, it is estimated that this concerns 10 to 15 percent of the cleaners working in healthcare.
“We are receiving signals that there are healthcare providers who have refused requests from cleaners in their application. Often with the motivation that they want to prevent their own staff from possibly missing out on the bonus as a result, ”says Piet Adema, chairman of the Cleaning and Company Services Business Organization.
The care bonuses of 1000 euros are intended for care employees who have worked hard during the corona crisis. This also applies to cleaning staff at healthcare institutions.
In a letter, OSB, together with trade unions CNV and FNV, calls on healthcare minister De Jonge to find a solution quickly, so that healthcare cleaners receive their bonus. “We count on all cleaners who have contributed to the fight against corona and are still doing so on a daily basis, will receive this care bonus and therefore appreciation. Even those who are now at risk of missing out. The ministry cannot and must not let this happen, ”said Adema.
